1.3 to 1.5 pages problem

  • having upgraded from an older 1.3 nightly to tonight’s 1.5 nightly, i noticed that all the links that had once led to my “pages” are now broken. Is there something wrong with .htaccess, the way i upgraded, or what. (Those “pages” were created with the wpadmin’s manage pages ability.)

    before, a link like https://BLOG.ADDRESS/about/
    would have gone to this page
    BLOG.ADDRESS/index.php?pagename=about

    now, even though wordpress shows me the rewrite rules for that, they don’t work.

  • If it is showing you the rewrite rules, then it was not able to update your .htaccess file. You need to manually paste them into your .htaccess file, and then if you want WP to do this automatically, make the .htaccess file writable.

    Its not showing me the rewrite rules, not unless I look at them in the manage ages tab. the rewrite rules aren’t shown in the permalinks section.

    Have you tried resaving the pages (just clicking on edit for each page and clicking save)? It sounds stupid but it worked when some of my pages stopped displaying.
