• This is just too weird…
wordpress 2.3 switches from my own theme to default every now and then …

Also, if I have only 1 theme (my own) in the theme directory… sometimes wordpress just deselects it and then tells me that there are NO THEMES in the directory…. while it had been working fine all the time …

The solution is to place another theme in the themes dir … for instance the default theme and then suddenly ALL themes show up again … then I can select my own theme again and it will work again ..

Hardly a nice situation and hardly logic …

  • This has been an ongoing issue for a long time. Just search for ‘default theme revert’ to see all the threads.

The problem seems to happen when there is something ‘illegal’ happening in a theme, then WordPress tries to fall back to the default theme.

I saw on one topic where Otto42 suggested flakiness with filesystems. Someone else suggested a problem with a plugin.

    How’s that for confusing things… ??

OK, I’ve seen some mention and finally a link to the bug:

    https://trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/3907

which indicates that the most likely reason this occurs is that someone is editing and uploading the style sheet (using FTP) while someone requests content or a file in the site (site active).
