13hrs of frustration, still a parked domain

You probably have a file called index.html or possibly default.html lingering in the root of your site, and that is loading as the default page instead of the index.php file that WordPress uses.

If that doesn’t help, you’ll need to ask your host about how to get rid of the holding page.

Deleted the index.php file. Still cannot get my website to come up. The only non-wordpress file inside the root is a folder “logs” that cannot be deleted for some reason.

Everything else that I can possibly think of is set correctly. So much for the five minute install!

I’ve managed to get https://www.theadblog.com/wordpress working again. I put the modified index.php in the root. WordPress has it’s own subdirectory. The WP URI is https://www.theadblog.com/wordpress, and the Blog URI is https://www.theadblog.com

But somehow I am STILL getting a parked site at https://www.theadblog.com

Any ideas?

Are you sure about that? I visit there and see the good old WordPress default theme (and a ‘Hello World’ post) staring back at me.

EDIT: And now you’ve gone done something else, as I’m getting errors about wp-blog-header.php…

changed back and it still shows a parked site for me at theadblog.com … are you sure you werent looking at theadblog.com/wordpress?

awild, I go to:

https://www.theadblog.com/

and see a WordPress blog, with:

https://www.theadblog.com/?p=1

leading to the default ‘Hello World’ post.

That domain works fine for me as well. I would clear you cache of your browser and then check it again. It is operating perfect for me.

cleared cache, restarted firefox, still getting the parked site when I visit.

What exactly do you mean by parked site?

It gives me the same thing as this website

It recognizes that it is bought but doesnt show that anything is in the directory. Weird that I get it and you guys dont.

Ah…..this makes sense now. I bet you recently changed the DNS on this site? Your ISP still is getted served the old DNS information. Time will only heal that wound. Come back in a couple of hours and it might work then.

To make sure, I get the following IP when I ping you:

82.165.107.70

If ping https://www.adqwerty.com and get:

82.165.135.246

2 seperate IP addresses

Well I’m awake and no good news. It still shows me the parked site page. Someone on a different board mentioned editing my host file. Would that do anything, and if so how do I do that?
