• It’s nice you’re working in this plugin. Unfortunately, 1.4 has some issues:
    1) Placement of JavaScript is changed on an upgrade to header and footer. This can break some sites (it does mine).
    2) Changing the option to put JavaScript in the header only does not work right – script is placed in both the header and the footer.

Due to this there seems to be no way to return to the prior plugin behavior (without downgrading).

It’s great js in the footer is supported, but better control on which scripts go where is needed to be truly viable for many sites.

One more: JavaScript files to exclude from minify are included in the footer anyway (AND separately).

Damn. Yes, this must be fixed urgently! “Everything in the header” setting does not work. Site is broken with some scripts still in the footer.

@woltis – I wondered if I was the only one seeing this. Thanks for chiming in.
I downgraded to the prior version, since 1.4 is not usable.

Unfortunately I’m not able to switch back to the old version. If I do so, some scripts still appear in the footer area and break my site.

I disabled and deleted V 1.4 and uploaded and installed 1.3.4. I even resetted all settings. No success, all JS-files do not appear in the header, some still remain in the footer (e.g. my lightbox script, which does not work in the footer). I have no idea, why the old version has no effect on the script placement.

The only workaround for me (until this bug is fixed) is to disable JS-compression completely. If I do so, the sites works well again – but with longer loading time.

I hope, that this bug will soon be fixed and the new header/footer option really do what they should.

Please fix this bug as soon as possible!

    Hello cgamron,

I made it work on my website with 1.4.

I noticed, that I had all jquery-scripts excluded from minify with the string “jquery” in the field “JavaScript files to exclude from minify”.

After excluding(!) it from there, most scripts work. Now I switched to “Everything in the header” and all seems to be fine.

So maybe check your in- and excluded files.

Having issue with the placement also, no duplicates, but the option to move the JS to footer is not working for me.
