I have no clue what fsckopen and cron are and how they work, but I am disappointed at the resolution of trac #3565. Perhaps the folks who closed this ticket have root privileges on their PHP, their DNS and their servers. I don’t. I don’t even have access to my /etc/hosts and crontab…!

The simple reality is that, once I upgraded from 2.0.x, scheduled posts do not appear in my blog.

This is not a DNS bug, people. It’s not a server config bug, either. It’s a WordPress bug.

Wow, my life was okay up until 2.0.11.

Do you guys have any workaround or suggestions? Note that I cannot edit my crontab.

  • Can you check your webserver logs as mentioned in that ticket to see if the wp-cron.php file is being accessed?

I can, I have, no one else does, and it has no effect. In other words, the only wp-cron.php and cron.php entries in the logs are my own visits, and those visits didn’t make any posts appear.

theapparatus, thanks for looking. You might want to read ticket #4566 and its comments, too.
