• Every post I make loses it’s original formatting. Breaks in text, and font as well. This is ******* ridiculous, how are you expected to add content when your constantly trying to fix old ****.

Maybe it’s me, I’m getting awfully frustrated tonight. I add links in the code format and regular content in the other format. I put a lot of thought and time into my spaces and page breaks, why aren’t they being published the way I write them? Why do they turn into a big blog of text?

It’s ugly, and hardly user friendly. Help me fix this as soon as humanly possible, thanks.

  • You don’t mention any of the details about the editor or applications you use to create your content, or if you use a blogging tool to write and upload to your blog. I get the impression you might be doing a “copy and paste” from some other application. There are now some advanced features built into the visual editor for WordPress (including a paste from “Word” function I believe), if you are inclined to use the visual editor.

Is any of the info here relevant?

    Best of luck.

It’s not you. Here’s what I just posted in a similar thread. There is a problem and it did NOT exist with at least some older versions:

Because the wysiwyg is NOT for using your own code (and you do not have to insert ever p tags – WP would do it for you if you just let it work in its own way.

moshu, this problem doesn’t have anything to do with the wysiwyg feature. I have used WP for well over a year. I have an old version on my main blog (not upgraded because the comments are hacked into a Vanilla forum). No problems at all.

I have three blogs with the current version of WP and ALL of them have this problem.

If I post in WYSIWYG, the initial post is fine. If I EVER go back to edit the code (even if I don’t do it but “Save” the post again), the post when viewed from the site has NO paragraphs. It’s all one huge block of text.

I tried, then, using only the code tab. Same problem. It’s been that way for at least two months.

This is NOT copied text. Just typed in text.

This problem happens with EVERY theme I have tried and with NO plug-ins, etc. Even brand new installations.

I’m not using anything to upload my content; strictly writing my posts in WP. I just read another thread and the guy had the same issue. Can we some how get in touch with an educated WP support person?

Alison, so what do you recommend I do? Not use WYSIWYG? Only use code and go through the pain of adding HTML when it’s not needed? Time consuming and not even close to efficient. What if I want to use WYSIWYG only for text, and use code editor for my links and images?

Why will no one from wordpress come up with a legit solution. This is bullshit.

    WP Support sucks.

TextEdit everything and paste it into your code editor on WP. Learn to live with it, it’s the only way around it I guess.

    WP Support sucks.

Do not even attempt to use the WYSIWYG editor, it will ruin your entire post and possible your evening.

    WP Support sucks!

    Good luck, darling.

I’d love to offer my free time to help a few WP noobs out. No one else does. Someone has to help.

Great observation, I’ve been here for one day. Christ, your resourceful. The thing is, I read posts on here from a year ago with no helpful responses, it’s like they get totally ignored.

Surely you can fix our problem, whooami?
