1.5 Pages Help

I’m trying to create pages for my site such as an “archives page”, “contact page”, and “about us” page. I throw in the code for my about us page into the box and submit it. However, it shows up as basically a post made by me with the info under it. Is there anyway to make it so that pages don’t include an author/title/comments section at the bottom so that it basically is it’s own separate page?
