I’ve started customizing the 2.3.2 default Kubrick “inspired” theme. Everything I find on replacing it says to “Just change the call path in the header.php” or to just overwrite the “kubrickheader.jpg” in the ../wp-content/themes/default/images folder. I’ve tried both and nothing happens.
I believe it has something to do with the ‘header-img.php’ but I can’t even find where that is called in the header or the stylesheet at all.

Ok, I have a fix for people doing the same thing. You can change the image by replacing (overwrite) the kubrickheader.jpg. Then go into your control panel and go to the “Presentation” then “Header Image and Color”

Hit the Advanced button followed by the default button and then save changes… should reload the image with the one you saved. That worked for me.

    oh my god…THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

something that should be the simplest thing to do, yet is frustratingly difficult to find support for. this forum is filled with questions about replacing the kubrick header. this is by far the best solution.

    ** UPDATE FOR WORDPRESS 2.5 **

Replace the kubrickheader.jpg with your own image. Then go to the dashboard – design – header image & color – advanced – select default colors – update header.

Thanks so much! I have tried fixing code for hours and finally checked here. Above worked in WordPress 2.6.

This should be a sticky! I wonder how many posts could be eliminated if this solution were readily available at the top of the “How-To” forum. God bless lokidtrixtergod!
