I am running the latest Chrome on Windows 8

I can’t do anything with the import. I can’t even choose to save the import. Is there any way to prevent the overload?

I’m also not sure if this is the tool I need. Each of the 1600 records indicates the name of the company. I have three different workers that will work with those companies in a variety of ways. They need a way to edit the companies they are assigned in their own view.

Am I going down the wrong path here? This product does not appear to be that robust.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

TablePress is pretty robust code-wise, but it’s not the tool of choice for all use cases.
Depending on how many columns those 1600 rows have, it might simply be that case that the browser takes too much time and memory to handle all the text field.
You could try this again in the latest version of Internet Explorer, which (surprisingly…) is better with memory management here, according to some users.

Now, about that editing those rows that are assigned to the workers: That’s not possible with TablePress. One can only edit all rows at a time.
You might indeed have to look for a custom PHP/mySQL solution.

    Regards,
    Tobias

How do other users manage a company database?

    Hi,

    good question – I don’t know…

If they are using TablePress, they probably have smaller databases than you and don’t run into the limitations. Otherwise, they probably use offline solutions or some custom software, e.g. based on direct usage of a mySQL database table.

I use press table to complete satisfaction.

I have until now stand at 12 csv import automatically.
1 file which contains 3970 rows.
I find that firefox indeed take some time, I just wait here and then everything is perfect!
Every day, these files are automatically updated
    You can view this example:
1600 rows would not be a problem i think.

    Hi,

it does not just depend on the rows, but the combination of number of cells in the table and the size of the content in the table.
That’s basically what determines how much memory is necessary and what makes the browser slow down ??

    Regards,
    Tobias

Jeroen, what do You mean by “automatically updated” – how did You achieve that? BTW – nice work on the example page!
Could You also explain how is multiple sorting done? Exactly – striking out filtering?
    Thank You!

Ok, I got the sorting thing – it’s done via TablePress Extension – great work Tobias!!
Jeoren – so my question is not only about auto-update content ??

    Thank You again!

Well, again, its extension ?? “Automatic Periodic Table Import”
    No more question, thanks!

    Hi timmy0101,

yes, those are the Extensions that were used on that site. Great to hear that you already found them ??

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
