Awaiting moderation keeps on 18 comments

    Hi,

    Awaiting moderation keeps saying 18 comments. When I click it it says: No comments awaiting moderation… yet.

    I think it had 18 to moderate before i updated to 2.5 today. How can I kill those 18?

    Adding a new one as a guest with spam link in there sets it to 19 Awaiting moderation but still no to moderate.

    Help?

  • I had the same problem as you and I found the fix: somehow the updater failed to create an index in the comment_date_gmt column of the wp_comments table. Go to your preferred MySQL interface (like phpMyAdmin) and add an index to that column, reload your comment management page, and you’re done. Cheers!

    Yeah, I had the same problem here – and the same resolution. Everything was fine after I created the index for comment_date_gmt.

    Of course… It took about 12 hours to figure this out.

    I have managed to do this however I still have the same problem, I have created the index for comment_date_gmt but still when a comment is made it says there is another for moderation but when the tab is clicked it still says “no comments awaiting moderation”

    Any ideas??

    Yep still not working for me. I already had the column.

    Looking at the data in mysql and after cleaning up some dead spam comments I noticed that the # is off. It says I have two to approve but I don’t really. Interesting that it’s count is off.
