1and1 hosting…can't edit menu or header

    I am hosting through 1 and 1 and they don’t help you install wordpress, so I’ve been doing it on my own. I’m not great at programing so I’ve had some problems. I got everything setup and I am able to make changes to most things on the site, but there are a few things that don’t work.
    1. Once I made a menu, I haven’t been able to edit it. When I click on menu to edit it, I get a blank page. The old menu is still working but I can’t upgrade it.

    2. I’ve tried uploading a new header through the header section and it never works. It adds the file to the media but doesn’t set it up as the header.

    3. When I open some pages, I click on the add media button and it doesn’t respond.

    I’ve managed to get around 2 and 3, but I can’t figure out the first problem. I’m using Twenty Ten theme if that helps. Is there a file I can open and type in the code to add things to the menu manually?

  • Have you edited the Twenty Ten theme at all? Have you tried deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    Deactivating the plugins worked. I don’t know which one was causing problems but I am not able to see the menu and move things around. I don’t know if it fixed the header problem, but I already managed to fix that in the code anyway.
