1MB to 2MB test posts

  • I was posting some old texts from an archive to WP earlier today. I was disappointed that a 64-bit browser and lots of resources for PHP and WP chokes editing 1MB or so worth of text.

    The text is all preformatted from ASCII text or older Apple text files from the 1970s and early 1980s

  • What specifically is choking? Is the editor slow when editing posts? Or when saving/publishing them? If it’s while editing them then that’s happening in the browser, so server resources don’t matter. The limiting factor would be the performance of the device you’re using to do the editing.

    Editor itself, publishing was fine, as more content is pasted in the responsiveness increasingly slower.

    My box has 32GB RAM, 6 core 12 thread CPU and I figure it can handle it

    I also complained to Google
