2.0.1 released: fixes hard-coded missing v4 icons
-
Hi all, thanks again to everyone for you rapid feedback and patience as I tackle the last bugs associated with the recent major bump to Font Awesome 5. I just released BFA 2.0.1 which should resolve the issue some of you have encountered in which custom-coded CSS psuedo-element icons are not appearing for you.
In case you are interested in the root cause, the short version is that previously all icons utilized
font-family: "FontAwesome"
, however the new Font Awesome version has updated font rules along the lines offont-family: "Font Awesome 5 Free"
. For your custom CSS and pseudo-elements, you’d normally have to update your custom CSS definitions, however this plugin update will now automatically include these mappings for you when theSettings > Better Font Awesome > Include v4 CSS shim
option is enabled (which it should be by default for anyone who already had BFA installed).Anyhow, this should hopefully resolve the common issue some of you have cited with missing icons. Please let me know if you are still encountering any issues after upgrading to v2.0.1, and once again, thanks so much for your ongoing patience and support of Better Font Awesome ??
