2.0 introduces a bloated, obtrusive, unnecessary UI

Sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the update while we tried to improve the overall experience and features in v2.0. We have introduced, WP-CLI support for configuring the settings page with WP-CLI command. Also, Disable Comments now have the ability to block comments that comes from XML-RPC and REST-API. Most of these features are requested by lots of users.

As we have added some new features, to set them up properly, we have introduced a simple Onboarding Wizard. So there’s no chance to create any impact on your WordPress. So I am not sure why you think it got bloated, we have rather optimized lots of things to improve performance.

Regarding the Email address, We send you the discount coupon for all our WPDeveloper products. And this email subscription is fully optional. If you cancel, This will not collect your email and this notice will not be visible anytime in your website: https://d.pr/i/GxDKBZ

I appreciate your feedback, but you don’t seem to understand the existing users of the plugin, why devs/admins/users appreciated it and why it got popular. Nothing of what you said justifies turning a simple, popular plugin – that was loved for what it simply did – into a hipster design nightmare and advertising channel for your company that’s creeping into users sites.

I understand your disappointment. We have released an update and removed the setup wizard completely, so there’s no more distraction I believe. We’ll be more careful to add new features and will surely keep it minimal.

I hope you will keep using the plugin and share your valuable feedback so we can keep improving and up to date with time. Just putting a negative review won’t help much while positive feedback could change things differently. Feel free to get in touch with our support if you have anything to share.
