Hey guys, I’m loving the plugin its just what we need for our client’s sites

our client’s website (homepage) usually loads in around 1.0s
upon adding your plugin with the configuration to “not show the buttons by default on posts/pages” have them only show when we are using the shortcode, the website’s home page how loads in at 3.8s.

There is currently two calls being made to admin-ajax.php from the front page however, this page shouldn’t be loading any content from your plugin with the configuration that has been set.

Is there a way to disable the admin-ajax.php calls or limit them to only being fired when your on a page that is actively loading content from your plugin ?

Any help with this issue would greatly be appreciated, as we would love to have your plugin as part of our client’s websites if this issue can be resolved.

    Many Kind regards

    Hi, Lee!

We’re definitely going to check what’s going on. Would you be able to point to a specific site so we can take a closer look? We haven’t seen this issue before.

Also, does this happen on all your clients’ sites?

    Cheers,

    Hi Timo,

    Thank you for the repl!

We currently have the plugin installed on two of our clients websites, one is currently live the other is under maintenance mode as its still in development.

Note: The plugin is currently disabled on both sites listed below.

    Live Site:
    https://ghengisfireworks.co.uk

    Metrix Report – Plugin Active
    https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.ghengisfireworks.co.uk/EM4RChF0

    Metrix Report – Plugin Disabled
    https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.ghengisfireworks.co.uk/VNJGRate

For each result please review the Waterfall section and scroll to the bottom

On the first report you’ll see two calls to “admin-ajax.php”
The first with a GET query for rns_get_html and a responce time of 2.1s.
The second with a POST responce of action=rns_get_reactions and a responce time of 1.39s.

As you can see from the rest of the waterfall, this is where the majority of the website load time is being lost.

In the second report you’ll see that thease two calls do not appear, thus the website loads much more quickely.

    Development Site:
    https://www.gfxmonkey.co.uk

    Metrix Report – Plugin Active
    https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.gfxmonkey.co.uk/kNpdxESd

    Metrix Report – Plugin Disabled
    https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.gfxmonkey.co.uk/gSiOoS32

Please note: this site is still in development and thus has had no form of Optimisation, so the speed’s are slower.

Again in the first report the “admin-ajax.php” calls are present with around a 1.x second responce time, They are not present in the second report, and thus the sitespeed is faster.

The Metrix reports above are analysing the homepage of each site, the plugin is not acctually being used or displayed on the frontpage what so ever, only on the product pages, Should the plugin acctually be sending requests from the front page at all ?

I am able to provide you with login credentials for both websites if you require, so that you may reactivate and adjust the plugin settings to further test/analyse the problem, however I would need a more secure form of communicating sutch details to you e.g. privately via email.

Thanks again for taking the time to read and answer this support request.

    Best regards

    Thanks for the info!

I checked a handful of other sites using the plugin, and the admin-ajax.php response seems to be around 200ms. Although it could admittedly be faster, it’s significantly less than on the sites you’re developing. I don’t have any guesses what’s different at the moment.
