    Hello,

First off, thanks for the great plugin – it truly is fantastic and makes WordPress freaking amazing and powerful. I made a website that took months in Django in a day with Pods and some other plugins.

I have encountered an issue with 2.8.9 and WordPress (tested with WordPress 5.8 through 5.9) where the post_meta fields are being inserted or updated as entirely blank, even required fields. The fields were all created via the pods plugin. Downgrading to 2.8.8.1 fixed this for me. Titles/description and taxonomies appeared to be working as normal in both versions of the plugin however.

I’m inserting via WordPress Importer by hand and wp-cli. They were showing as successful inserts, including the post_meta fields, however they came up blank in WordPress. The XML/WXR file is valid. And again, simply downgrading fixed the issue and now all the post_meta fields are working just fine/populating like normal. If there is anything I can do to help debug this, please let me know. Just wanted to share the temporary solution here if anyone else was having issues.

    -John

Thank you so much Scott, I very much appreciate the speed at which this was solved. I can confirm the issue is fixed. I had to do a donation too, thank you again.

Thanks for donating @ajohnclark, free plugins like Pods survive on the generosity of people who contribute their time or donations. Thank you for the donation and spending some time by letting us know about this problem. It wasn’t immediately clear what was happening and your post led us to the solution.
