re the 410/404; try disabling just CSS, just JS, just HTML or just Image optimization to pin this down a bit?

re. css updates: AO should pick up on those, no need to purge cache.

Weirdly, having been pissing me off for an hour, it’s now cleared. Thought I’d check one last time before trying your suggestion and it’s now fine, no error.

I guess there must be another cache somewhere but where, I don’t know. Odd.

But thanks for your (as ever) awesomely fast response!

Thanks for the CSS answer as well, I’ll make the change and see what happens.

    Cheers!

I’m guessing a page cache (AO doesn’t do that), plugin or host-level or 3rd party?

    Hallo Frank
Sorry, just to clarify on the css update bit:
Running AO and AJ, can I just make changes to CSS, JS and PHP wthout doing anything else (so will AO/AJ pick these up automatically)? Or should I deactivate either/both, then re-activate when changes done? I assume that updates the cached AO files?
    Or something else?
Thanks to your great plugins the site’s now scoring very well, so I just need to know how to make theme changes without breaking anything! Apologies if this is documented somewhere, couldn’t find it.
    Thanks v much!

    no worries ??

both will pick up on changes, but you will need to make sure AO/ AJ are invoked to start with, i.e. making sure your page cache is cleared.

Just clear the cache, make the change, and all should be well. Magic, thanks Frank!
