2 issues | Tracking of mailto and tracking 'outbound' to subdomain
-
Hi there,
I have experienced two issues concerning this plugin.
– Mailto tracking does not work properly
Unfortunately all links that contain a mailto do not get tracked at all. All my links (downloads, outbound websites etc) are placed within button shortcodes and that all works fine. Many people have reported issues on their mailto, so maybe this is something that can be investigated for the whole community in a future update?
– ‘Outbound’ link to a subdomain does not get tracked
This one might not be a bug but simply a failure in setting it up correctly. Anyway:I have a link (set up in a shortcode) that links to a subdomain of ours, for instance https://dogs.website.com. I would like to track the clicking of that button as well, but it does not do that automatically. We are not using Analytics on the subdomain and we are not interested in it (as it is a different platform etc.) however I would like to see how many people click on the button to go to that subdomain. No further tracking is needed (as that would require analytics on the subdomain as well)
Would anyone have a solution for this or could help me fix this issue?
