• 2 of my sites were hacked because of this plugin.

    Thanks a lot!

It took me more time to clean the mess than to actually benefit from this software.

    What a waste of time.

  • We’re very sorry to hear that! We did the best we could, unfortunately the disclosure timing was not on our side!

    Yes…it was an unfortunate event.

Have you patched the plugin already? Do you still continue to have reports of hacked sites?

I′ve been thinking about using mailpoet again, but I don′t know…the risk seem to be too high right now..

    Hi andresito,

Yes we have patched it since version 2.6.7 and on each release we are increasing the security of our plugin more and more.

The only possible risk will be if your site is still infected. All the major holes we closed. We are receiving lots of help from the security community these days.

The thing is that i′m a bit paranoid…

Are you still testing the plugin for security vulnerabilities? I think it is great your having help from professionals.

I hope this exploit incident makes you paying more attention to security issues.

Have you tested throughfully? Are you sure everything is secured now?

I don′t want to install this again just to find out i′m infected again.

It was a very traumatic experience for me

We are a non-profit that worked very hard to get our website to a great place. We recruit tutors to help adults who are struggling with basic skills of reading and writing in English. It is now all over. I am the webmaster and have been away since June because of the death of my father. A colleague of mine was just updating news until my return. She did not understand plugins. We are all volunteers and now we have nothing and no technical expertise to complete the fixes that need to be done, let alone the funds To hire the security company that found the problem to help. I am heartbroken.
