• Hi there,

I am confused how I could use 2 themes on same site for mobile and desktop view. Please dont suggest me any mobile theme switching plugins as in my case those were not helpful. Earlier I used any mobile theme switcher for my site. I configured a theme (MH Magazine Theme) by activating it (like adding logo, menus and configuring the home page content) then I deactivated it and activated my previous theme (International Post Theme). Both the themes have different home page for them. Like International post shows the Latest posts in a pre-aligned way, and MH Magazine we can configure the content format on a page and then show that as home page. But when I did that and selected the MH Magazine theme for mobile devices using Any Mobile Theme Switcher, what ever changes I made on the configuration part didnt reflect on mobile view. And I am confused how I could achieve what am I expecting. Kindly some one help me out if you know the solution.

  • You can’t use two themes on the same site without using a plugin.
Why not use a theme that works well on all devices?

Try this plugin if you are so inclined:

    Hi kjlekha,

actually the most recent version of the MH Magazine lite theme is responsive: https://www.ads-software.com/themes/mh-magazine-lite/

That means you don’t need an additional plugin to support mobile devices.

Actually we want to use International post theme for desktop view and MH themes for mobile. But when I use any mobile themes to switch the theme then the changes we have made in MH theme reverts back to its default settings. Hence kindly guide me how I could solve the issue.

    Thanks and regards

Sorry, but so far we know that isn’t possible in WordPress. You could try the plugin which WPyogi suggested, but probably that won’t switch themes based on desktop/mobile view.

Why not just using one responsive theme for desktop and mobile view?! ??

No.. That is not our objective. Please let us know if there is any alternate method available for the same.. ??

What about creating a new site on subdomain, e.g. m.yourdomain.com and redirect all visitors from mobile there.

On this subdomain you would create new wordpress site with the same database connections so it will have the same content as your main site, but you will use different theme…
