Have not tried the plugin yet, but is there also an option for:
2 weekly events & last Friday of the month recurring events?
If not can they be added? Either by hook/filter or straight into the plugin as an update?

Not sure what you mean by two weekly events.
If you mean… Monday then another one Friday…
Yes. Repeat –> Every 3 Days
But if you need to do it every week like that.. you need to reenter the information.
There is an easy way to repeat that original information.
You would, as if you needed to Edit the original information, edit the item… then Select –> Copy .
If you are talking about repeating just the last Friday of every month.
It basically works.. you would select the Friday you want.. then repeat every Every 4 –> Weeks .
BUT……
There is a problem, because some months are 30 then 31 days… it doesn’t work across those months.
The original Author Erin Miller no longer supports the plugin…. he’s a great guy but moved on to other project.
If you need a basic good calendar… without any exotic options this will work.
There are some other limitations… for example… if you want to display all events at “Willie’s Bar” you can’t do it. That is you can’t segregate out the Venues option. At least I certainly haven’t figured it out… basically I think Venues is not a separate entity in the database.
BUT I am certainly no expert by any means.
Give it a try… back up you database and files as always if you are experimenting or just general good practice .
I use it extensively on two sites Theme 2014… WP 4.3 .
I also use another far more configurable Events plugin for other options.
