We are now having problems where our signup form is throwing this error for some reason. This didn’t happen when we implemented it. It is on our client’s site here.

I have deleted and reinstalled the plugin and rechecked the list settings, but the plugin keeps wanting to use the wrong list ID. It doesn’t seem possible to force the plugin to use the list ID, and it’s not getting the correct list id from the select list in the settings. Can anybody help?

I went into the database and changed the option value for the plugin and now it is working again.

    Hi,
I have the same problem, can you explain what table did you use and what value you did you change in the DB?
    Thanks

Sure thing. There is a key/value pair in the postmeta table that specifies the list that gets used for the form. Run a query on the table to find the record where ‘meta_value’ = ‘id-number-in-the-error’. Change that id number to the id number of your list in Mailchimp and you’re good to go.

    Hey Pixelnate,

We’ve been looking over this issue and I was wondering if you could answer a question for me to help us in tracking down the root issue here. When you changed the id number in the table, was the id number stored different from the one you were seeing in the error message? Or was the one in the error message itself the incorrect list ID, and matched both in the error message and the table entry you changed?

    Thanks,
    Gabe

The ID in the error was indeed the ID that was shown in the database, and it didn’t match up to any lists we have. I don’t know how that ID was different from the list ID that is shown in the MailChimp admin.

On a side note, no matter which list I chose in the select list in the plugin options, the list was never changed. Also, when the plugin options page loaded it didn’t show any list as being chosen, even on initial load, when there was clearly an ID set in the database.

    Thanks for the details, Pixelnate!

    Hi,
I seem to be having the same problem currently.
Which file name can I find the table under?
Since I’m not quite sure where to find and edit the problem.
    Thanks!

Hey mwell, thanks for getting in touch.

In order to help out here, we’ll need a bit more information to confirm this is the same issue or something similar. We definitely want to look into this as best we can. Additionally, because this thread is older and already resolved, can you please start a new thread with your response so we can track your issue most smoothly?

We’ll be glad to dig in more once you start that new thread with the exact error message, when you’re seeing it, what steps you’ve already tried for troubleshooting it, and what happens if you try disconnecting from your MailChimp account totally, then reconnecting to the MailChimp account (or even disconnecting, then deleting the plugin and reinstalling it, then connecting to MailChimp again).

    Thanks!

In the new thread, if you could provide me with some more information on exactly what you’re seeing, I would be happy to assist! Here’s what I’ll need to know:
    – exact error message and when/where it appears
    – has the plugin been disconnected from MailChimp and then reconnected, or deleted and reinstalled?

I will be happy to assist further in your new thread with some additional information about the error message you’re seeing.
