2011 can not select drop menu items in IE8

    I am using the Twenty Eleven theme. I have this installed local and it works with IE8, Chrome, and Firefox. On the Live site in IE8 the drop down menus appear, but once the mouse moves they disappear. My drop down items activation is indicated by an underlined font. When I do this same action via Chrome and move to the dropdown menu, the underline remains present even as I move towards the dropdown items. The Information main menu item has an associated dropdown menu. These menus are based on pages. On the live site, When I do the same action within IE8, as soon as I move off the menu item text, the underline goes away along with the drop down menu even though I’m still in the background area of the main menu item. And as I stated, using the exact same browsers on my local version all is ok.

    I have also noticed when in IE8 on the live site, when I click on the main menu item and then move the mouse, I can move it over one of the drop down items, I can then select any of the drop downs, until I move the mouse out of that area.

    Both version are 3.3.1 and I copied styles.css, rtl.css and colors/dark.css files from the local version to the live site version. Any ideas?

    it turned out to be a logo image that was placed on the page based on browser type, had to adjust start position due to browser relative/absolute issues… for some reason on the local machine, this browser type check was not working correctly. On the live site, this browser check seemed to work, but the addition of the image mucked up the menu in IE. When I removed this code all worked fine in all browsers… I found this by grabbing the source of the page and then began to remove items one by one until the page worked on IE…
