    @doume

You have indicated that your WordPress Version used with this plugin is 4.1.1

WordPress 4.1.1 for run need PHP 5.5 and MySQLi?

    I dont’know …

    Thanks!

    Hello,

With all plugins not activated WP itself worked on a server that had only pdo and mysqli api clients installed and activated.

BTW, since my post I have modified the 2014.0131 development release to have it working with pdo, mysqli and mysql api clients, up to PHP7.0.0 now. Working well on production servers (PHP5.6) and on a local server (PHP7) with last WP 4.3.x/4.4 versions. So problem solved for me.

Make you a question: what you have modified … my plugin?

    Yes.

    To do what?

P.S. Put the modified code here please …

    (@doume)

To do what I described in my prior to last post (2nd paragraph).

Modify my plugin, without my active consense, and without give me a credits on it, is a “violation” of www.ads-software.com guidelines, and a GPLv2 License.

Indicate me, all modified code lines, and forked plugin page, please …

    ??

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

Actually, modifying the plugin without your consent is completely covered under GPLv2, and the credits are only required if the plugin is being distributed.

Under GPLv2, folks can do whatever they want with your code in the privacy of their own site.

You don’t have to support customizations, of course, but there’s enough false information floating around about the GPL so let’s please keep that to a minimum. ??

    Plugin Contributor slangji

    (@slangji)

Yes James, but only if the plugin is being distributed.

    This is the case IMHO.

Not me i should investigate this, but the Plugin Team.

    I know … not talk nonsense … https://make.www.ads-software.com/plugins/2015/08/26/forks-and-copies/

    Thanks!

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

I see no evidence of the plugin being distributed, do you? If so, what is your evidence?

The modified plugin sounds like it’s for personal use.

    Plugin Contributor slangji

    (@slangji)

The fact that you do not see it, does not mean it does not exist.

It’s not me that I have to say the name of the plugin copied but doume https://make.www.ads-software.com/plugins/2015/12/14/sock-puppetry-is-not-welcome/

I not me who has to investigate, but the team.

In the repository there are more than one copy, some cleverly, some brutally.

With this I have nothing to add, except that I will turn to a lawyer for assistance.

Every time I write a post on this forum, the moderators always give me wrong: 8 years that I work with WordPress, releasing my plugins, and no one has ever protected and appreciated my work.

    Have a Good Day!

    (@doume)

@james Thanks for the GPLv2 duties and rights reminder. And to make sLa feel better yes, it’s for personal use only.

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

    Thank you for clarifying, doume!

sLa NGjI’s, we don’t investigate plugins that are not distributed, because there’s absolutely no reason to. As stated before, you’re more than welcome to not support customizations, but there is absolutely no violation of the GPL or www.ads-software.com policies here.

    @doume

The spirit of open source is the collaboration: if you have modified code of my plugin, to enhance it, i am very happy to give you the necessary credits on my plugin, please send me enhanced code.

    Thanks! !!

    @ James:

This is a list of “somes” plugin copied, that have this violation of GPLv2:

https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/server-ip-memory-usage/ (intelligently copied … but have evidences of it, on it changelog … )

https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/database-and-memory-usage-limits (totally copied and cloned copy)

    … and more others …

Now it is up to the team to find out who is the real owner who published plugins copied, which violated the GPLv2, and if he writes, even as puppet, with a false name.

    Thanks! !!
