• I’ve got a fresh install of WordPress 2.6.1.

The only plugin I have installed is cformsII (but I have tested this with the plugin deactivated as well)

When I create or edit a page, as soon as I try to save or publish the page, the .htaccess file gets replaced with a nearly empty one. Since I am running this install on a subdomain, as soon as htaccess is changed I lose all access to my site.

The same thing does not seem to happen when I create a post…it’s only pages causing this.

Then, when I re-upload the correct .htaccess file, the changed/new page is visible.

In effect, this means I have to re-upload my .htaccess file after each and every edit of a page.

I have tried setting permission on htaccess to 115 but still it gets replaced.

Anyone have any ideas? Is this a WP issue or a server issue?

  • Keep other code out of the WordPress section of the .htaccess (between # BEGIN WordPress and # END WordPress) or it will overwrite it.
