    Hey all.

Just uploaded 2.6.2 to my host and directed my browser to https://www.abc.com/wp-admin/. I was then prompted with the login page. I typed my username and password, pressed “log in” and was immediately dropped back to the login page with the username filled with what I had just entered. No errors, I only got what looked like a browser refresh.

Did I do something wrong with the upgrade? As far as I know, going to https://www.abc.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php was not needed for this upgrade.

I even tried entering an incorrect password just to see what happened and I was given an “incorrect password” error at that point. Thinking that I may have botched something, I reset my password via phpMyAdmin, but I’m still getting the same results.

If any of you have any advice, it would be appreciated.

When I had searched earlier this(https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/204093?replies=13) thread didn’t turn up but I found it after starting this thread. The good thing is that it did provide information as to what the problem may be.

I’ve removed a few plugins and am now able to login without a problem. Those removed are: “Cimy Shift SMTP”, “SRG Clean Archives” and “CForms”. I’m going to do a little testing and see if I can narrow it down to one particular plugin and will update this thread with the results.

Removing those plugins from the plugin directory definitely solved the issue, but after re-enabling them things seem to work fine. That’s a poor solution, but it’s all i’ve got right now.

I had the same experience as Tony. Removing the plugins before logging in solved the issue, although after enabling them again, things worked as they should. Immediately after renaming the plugins folder back to normal, I did get a strange message on the Plugins page that said:

The plugin ../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../tmp/tmpf01R3s/sess_896d8015d80c34ab0f49cc2a88eb2b9a has been deactivated due to an error: Invalid plugin.

I have no idea what this was about, and it went away on its own. Strange.
