For some reason the most recent version of YARP is causing my feed to not work properly. I was going nuts trying to figure out why my feed wouldn’t load and it ended up being this plug-in. I deactivated it and the feed worked. Not sure what it is though. Would be great if this could be fixed. Thanks!

  • @yots – thank you for the report and I apologize for the inconvenience.

I made a quick fix which I believe may fix the issue. If you could please try this development version and let me know if it works, I’d greatly appreciate it. If this fixes the issue, I will formally release it as 2.1.3 in the next day or two.

    Thanks,
    mitcho

I’ve released 2.1.3. Please see if that fixes your issue.

Same thing here. 2.1.3 doesn’t fix it. ??

Please see if the just-released version 2.1.4 fixes your issues.

Nope… it freezes the feed, doesn’t send new items to the RSS.

@rfischmann… hmm… I’m sorry to hear that. If you email me I might be able to support you better. I haven’t heard of this issue from anyone else, though, so we’ll see what I can do. :/

I have the same problem with the most recent version of the plugin. RSS is no longer valid and when running through the validator shows a bunch of garbage rather than XML.

@n2wq – can I take a look at your feed? You can email me the link if you’d like. I’m curious if there is an SQL error or if it’s just stopping it completely, or something else entirely.

If I enable the RSS feature of the plugin, I get 502 error pages, if this is any helpful. Also, for some reason, it takes a few minutes to create or un-do the problem, i.e. the error takes a few minutes to impact the feed.

@n2wq – perhaps you turned off the “display in RSS” feature off again, as I don’t see the related posts display in the RSS feed right now…

I had the same problem in that the plugin was causing a 502 response on my posts feed. My comments feed was just fine. I couldn’t figure out why this was happening. What I did was uncheck “Display related posts in the descriptions?” in the feeds options and now everything is back to normal.

There may be a bug there in this area.

@edwardnh – Yes, with the help of @rfischmann, I was just able to verify that there is a bug here: even if you turn off the “display related posts in the feed”, if the “display related posts in the descriptions” option is underlyingly turned on, it will still activate. I am going to release a bugfix, 2.1.5, in a day or two.

Thank you all for your reports!

I’m using version 2.1.6 of this plugin and I’m running into this problem. Releated post are still appearing in my RSS even though I turned that feature off. Please help.

@puhgete – hmm… that’s very odd. Did clearing any caches (if you’re using some caching plugin) help?

    Hello,
I’m using v2.1.6 and also using the plugin Better Feed. When I installed the YARP plugin, it immediately broke the functioning of this other plugin (.i.e Better Feed content stopped appearing in the feed). When I unchecked the “Display related posts in feed?” box, Better Feed started functioning again. Any ideas or suggestions?
    Thanks,
    John
