• Had to hunt around and found several conflicting posts dating back a while, but this worked:
    – backup database
    – rename the b2 tables to have the same names as wp tables
    – edit config details as needed in the config files each time
    – delete ALL b2 files from the server
    – upload new wp-072-gold files
    – upgrade to wp-072-gold
    – delete ALL wp files from the server
    – upload wp-1.0.2-blakey files
    – upgrade
    – delete all those
    – upload wp 1.2.2 files
    – upgrade
    – keep them ??

I have forgotten who in #irc let me have the 072 version – many thanks.

If you need 072 email me and I’ll shoot it back at you.

And I have no clue why I just wrote this ….. ??

  • *cough*insanity?*cough* ??

Nice dude. Might actually intergate BBpress with WP 1.2.2 (my blog) ??

Can’t you keep the b2 table names by editing the config? As you’re having to edit it anyway it doesn’t add an extra step and saves you having to change things in phpMyAdmin. I am on 1.2 now and still have the b2 prefix on my tables.

If it works for you, leave it as it is I’d say.

I made that point above because before doing the upgrade for someoner, and searching here, I found conflicting advice.
Trying to upgrade without altering the table names resulted in a fail for me which is why I mentioned it.
