• My plugins auto-update, but this was the first time that an auto-update brought down my site.
The 2.2 upgrade to All in One SEO Pack created a redirect loop on the home page.
I could still login and disable the plugin, and then the home page came back up.

  • I had the same problem.
Disabled the plugin and reinstalled the older version. Now everything works fine again!

    Hello ublac and laroli,

I’ve tested the update again and I can’t reproduce this issue; first, make sure you reload any pages you had open or flush your browser cache, as there is some Javascript that gets updated with this release. Also, please browse to All in One SEO -> Performance and scroll down to the bottom of the System Status Info; if you’re ok with sharing that with us, put in [email protected] as the email and click Submit and I’ll review these reports for potential configuration conflicts.

I, too, am having trouble. I updated this and my site stopped working. Only the home page. The other pages still work. I then updated the 2.2.1 and it still doesn’t work. I had to deactivate the plug in, so now all of my site’s page titles and metadata are gone. If Google scans my site again before this is fixed, god knows what’s going to happen. I may lose my 1st page ranking. I don’t know how to revert back to the old version.

    Hi thepersonalassistant,

You can find all versions of the plugin here; did you get any error messages on the home page? This may be due to a conflict with a plugin or with your theme.

I also had the same problem two days ago. The only thing I could do to “fix” the issue was deactivate the plugin. Hopefully there is a fix soon, because I don’t want to lose my Google rankings either.

There was no error message until I tried to visit my homepage, and it was the message that it could not redirect to the page.

    Hi jflem21,

Frankly, this shouldn’t happen; if you don’t mind, could you try updating to 2.2.1 and let me know if this is still an issue for you? If it is, then you may downgrade to 2.1.7 (see the link above your post for the downloads there) and please browse to All in One SEO -> Performance and scroll down to the bottom of the System Status Info; if you’re ok with sharing that with us, put in [email protected] as the email and click Submit and I’ll review these reports for potential configuration conflicts.

I did update to 2.2.1, and it didn’t help. I don’t know how to downgrade, but I’ve been trying to. I downloaded version 2.1.7, but I’m not sure how to install it.

“All in One SEO -> Performance and scroll down to the bottom of the System Status Info; if you’re ok with sharing that with us, put in [email protected] as the email and click Submit and I’ll review these reports for potential configuration conflicts.” I’m not sure where exactly you’re referring to. I tried to go into the options, and couldn’t find anything referring to performance…

    jflem21,

From the plugins screen, delete All in One SEO Pack; then Add New Plugin, Upload the file you downloaded (2.1.7), and activate it. And thanks for helping me troubleshoot this!

Peter fyi I’m also having the same redirect loop problem with 2.2.1, I reinstalled 2.1.7 and it works fine.

Thanks pmontelo, could you follow the same steps above and please browse to All in One SEO -> Performance and scroll down to the bottom of the System Status Info; if you’re ok with sharing that with us, put in [email protected] as the email and click Submit and I’ll review these reports for potential configuration conflicts.

    Hello Peter,

Sent you the performance overview for “malibur……..com”. Experiencing the exact same issue as described above.

Cleared all caches, de-activated most plugins etc. Only thing i havn’t tried at this point is a fresh WP install.

    Regards and thanks,
    Freddy

And last version have problem with pagination.
Page 2 and last page redirected to main page. But page 3, for example, work fine.
Return to AIOSP from backup (2.1.7) – no problems.

Are there any security issues with going back to 2.1.7?

    thepersonalassistant,

    No, there aren’t.

    Hi Freddy,

I set up a test site similar to your site and couldn’t reproduce this issue; I can confirm that it’s likely not a plugin conflict or theme conflict, but so far that hasn’t brought me closer to figuring out what the issue actually is.
