Reset Password link not working – user_activation_key invalid

I saw a post on here (but of course now I can’t find it) where someone could not get their Reset Password Link to work because the user_activation_key was invalid even though they just recieved it and clicked the link in the email. (The one get when you forget your password).

I was having log-in issues and thought I needed to do this and mine did not work either.

I went into the database, (_users table) and changed my activation code to a regular word (like “hello”). I then closed my browser and tried again but this time I changed the actiavtion code in the link to “hello”. It worked.

So that is one way to get around it.

But, I also had a problem with the cookies not working properly, so it is possible that all I had to do was close the browser (all windows) and try again. I’m not testing it because of all the issues I had with the damn cookies. Now that they are working, they should be fine (I hope). So first try just closing the browser and starting over. If that doesn’t work, force the silly code to something reasonable.
