2.2.8 Update

Virtue 2.2.8 seems to be missing the template files and therefore will not activiate. I first tried to ‘update’ to 2.2.8 from the previous version and it wouldn’t activate (and of course, deletes everything apart from assets from the old version)! (GREAT, NOT)…. so I donwloaded 2.2.8 from the website and manually updated and it won’t allow me to activiate the theme due to missing template files.

So there is an issue with the zip file on the updates server. I’ve just reported to a www.ads-software.com admin. Hopefully that will be resolved very soon as I have no control over the file and the theme is all there if you download manually.

So for those that have updated and are getting the “missing templates”.

You will have to login to your server, go to the file manager and navigate to your site, go to wp-content/themes/

and remove the virtue folder.

Then you can install in the wordpress admin panel using the download from here: https://www.ads-software.com/themes/virtue

Another note.
@themissusdoctor you do not lose theme settings by removing the theme from your admin and reinstalling. The settings are saved in the database so they are safe.

I just updated to 2.2.8 from 2.2.7 and had no issues.

I exported settings then deactivated virtue (as instructed on the docs page) then did the update in from wordpress updater, reactivated virtue and website is great.

I post this to show that it at least this method worked flawlessly.

Thanks guys, Just got word from the admins here on .org that the issue was with one server and it has been fixed.
