I cannot remove the eshop plugin from my website

  • I uploaded a couple of new plugins and eshop was one of them. When I went to remove it I first deactivated it, then deleted it from my plugins list. When I go to my website the 6 lines for shopping, checkout, cart, thank you…etc. etc. won’t dissapear. You can click them, why? What did I do wrong? It is showing up in my header and interfearing with placed advertisements, adsense and affiliate banners. https://autopartsreviewblog.com, any impute would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    I just updated my own sites wordpress blog from 2.3 to 2.7. It let me go all the way through the update. Backed up my Database and files. Then the site under maintenance screen was installed. The update to 2.7 didn’t finish it updated to 2.6 and now for 3 days the site is in maintenance mode. The automatic update by techie buzz is the culprit. How do I get out of maintenance mode screen. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    eShop deactivation doesn’t delete anything, only using eShop uninstall will do that. However even using that it will not automatically delete pages, you have to do that manually. It is far safer this way in case any content was added to those pages, as i’m sure you wouldn’t want to lose that!

    I’d suggest for your issue to start a new thread as it isn’t eShop related. Although I would suggest updating manually via FTP, and delete the auto update plugin you have installed.

    Thanks, I uninstalled the automatic plugin update and the eshop plugin. I still get the eshop clickable links showing up in my main header. In order for me to manually delete pages should I go through MySQL in my database? Where would these eshop source pages be? I was thinking that what is showing up in my website was a .php file that needed to be deleted so the clickable links would go away.
    I never did any business with it so I’m not concerned with losing would be customer or order info.

    Johnny – the pages created by eshop are just ordinary pages that you can edit or delete or whatever through your dashboard just like you would any other page or post.

    But I think eshop will have put a table or two in your database that you should clean out. I suggest you check it in phpmyadmin against the standard installation database set-up and see if there’s something there that doesn’t belong to the core WP install or any other plugins you’ve got.

    That’s correct testcricket – though if he uninstalled eshop, as opposed to deactivating then all traces of it should have been removed from the database, including any database tables it created.
