• Hi.
I’ve upgraded to the 2.5 release but it seems I can no longer insert images in my posts and pages.
I able to upload them into my gallery, and also see all the images stored in my nextgen gallery when I hit the insert images button on top of the editor.

However, when I try to hit the “show”-link nothing happens and it doesnt seem to be any way to insert the image into the blog…

I might be stupid here however I dont find any solutions, please help me if you know anything about it.

Do you have different URL’s for the two URL’s on the settings page? Do you have any sort of plugins that could interfere with the URLs? Do you have the blank line problem? Cookies expired?

Could be a dozen things interfering, it’s hard to narrow down the list without more info.

I do not have different URLs on the settings page.

    all plugins are deactivated.

can’t even get to the blank window problem for when I click on “add image” uploader darkens and freezes. also noticed “save” and “publish” buttons oddly blinking.

not sure what cookies you speak of.

having the same problem on both my blogs.

Other people said they had this problem and that a “fresh install” worked fine. If this is the case, then you likely did not upload all the files or overwrote files or something like that.

Verify that every single file has been upgraded on the site. Clear any caches you find, browser or elsewhere.

To LewiePaine: What is the no-flash-uploader? Can you please post a link to it so I can try it out to?

I just noticed a new case that can break it.

When I upload through my work’s firewall, the first image stops the upload and asks me for my firewall password. I put it in and it appears to work, but the image does not get a thumbnail created properly. Subsequent images work fine and don’t ask me for a password.

If you use a firewall, you might see about configuring flash to know your password in advance.

If I login to my page using wp-login.php I have the problem.
If I login to my page using index.php first then click “Log in” I don’t have a problem uploading photos.
There must be something that using index.php is setting up that wp-login.php does not.

Thanks heeps Lewie! At least now I can upload images for my client:)
I really dont care if its flash or not so thanks again!

Followed the instructions to the letter to add an image to a post, but when I published it, none of my formatting worked, such as “left” and so on. The photo sits all alone above the paragraph I intended it to be part of.

I am using a StudioPress theme. Could this be part of the problem?

Strangely it also screwed up the font on the post, enlarging the font on the paragraph with the image. I checked the HTML and there was no extra code shown. I had to delete everything and go back to the original post to get it back correctly.

    We cannot see it…

The reference post above states that this will be fixed in 2.6.1, so I assume the problems I am having with image placement in a post is what will be solved. Am I better to wait for this fix or try to add the additional image code from this same post into my CSS. I am new to WP and don’t want to screw up my site.
