I installed Wp 2.5 and am trying to add the IE fix to the files. I download the fix and it says it is blocked. I have tryed this on multiple computers and it still says it is blocked. I also tryed multiple downloads thinking the files were corrupt. I have unblocked the files and it still does not let me extract the files. Any one else?

  • You can not extract the ZIP archive?

Correct, it let me download it but not extract. Maybe someone just has these script unpacked already and can post them here….

Use WinZip or WinRAR instead of the built in Windows ZIP functionality. Not only does that thing never work properly, it’s slow as heck too. A real ZIP program is 1000x better.

But if you really need individual links:
    wp-includes/js/swfupload/handlers.js
    wp-admin/includes/media.php

ok, i overwrote those two files and now i am getting a nice little error…
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare media_upload_tabs() (previously declared in /mnt/data/isi_chicago2-data1/www1/www/f… ….) in media.php on line 3

You overwrote the wrong files. Try again, more carefully. And fix the files you accidentally overwrote.

Also, post the complete error next time.

    Here is the whole error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare media_upload_tabs() (previously declared in /mnt/data/isi_chicago2-data1/www1/www/f/a/farmandranchguide.com/html/testblog/wp-includes/media.php:5) in media.php on line 3

I was very careful which directory i put the files in. Unless these aren’t the correct directories.

hello mgieser, as Otto42 wrote, the error message clearly states that you messed up your installation. I do not want to be rude, you just messed it up, such things can happen.

I suggest you delete the whole wp-includes directory and upload it again from the official release package.

I didn’t mean to come off as rude. So does this mean I have to reinstall all my blog sites then rather than just upgrading them?

Unless these aren’t the correct directories.

Indeed, they are not the correct directories. You will notice the difference better if I put them side by side:

    wp-admin/includes/media.php <- What I gave you.
wp-includes/media.php <- What you apparently used.

Try again. You may want to download a fresh copy of 2.5 in order to repair the file you broke.

Thanks for the help guys, I just put the correct files back and then put the new IE fix media.php file in the right place. Worked like a charm!!

Great to hear! Would you be so kind and mark the thread as resolved? Thanks!
