2.5.1 permalink problem with some plugins

  • New 2.5.1 install with Month and name permalink structure; Site works perfectly with all permalinks correct. However when using plugins that get permalink address like latest comments and popularity contest, I see permalinks that shows https://myzerowaste.com/1970/01/ in the sidebar in latest comments etc. This goes nowhere, although the actual post URI is correct and shows its correct permalink when it is called. This rogue URL appears only when certain plugins are used.

    We’ve checked the plugins are working correctly and this appears to be WP problem. I’ve found nothing on google, so really hoping someone here might have an idea, please.

  • Have you checked that these plugins are versions updated to be compatible with 2.5.1? I’ve heard that Popularity Contest may have issues with 2.5.

    I use popularity contest 1.3b3 here. This is a modified version of the original plugin. Modifications by Wessley Roche in order to work with WordPress 2.5. https://wpguy.com/ The plugin works correctly, except for the URLS. Rob Marsh is aware of the same problem I’m having with his plugins (similar posts and recent comments), but they are all 2.5 compatible. There is no problem with the sites standard URL sttings, only permalinks. I’m really stuck where to look for a solution on this.
