I have uploaded WP-Andreas01 to my /themes directory as well as six other themes. When I go to Manage Themes, WP-Andreas01 appears as an option. But when I try to preview it, all I get is a blank screen. This does not give me the confidence to activate the themes. All the other themes preview correctly.

What is the blank screen telling me?

  • I know this sounds a little goofy, but try removing the hyphen from the theme folder name. Rename wp-adreas01 to wpandreas01, and see if the preview shows. I know… it sounds weird, but it solved the same issue for me with blank previews in the overlay.

    [EDIT]

I just uploaded the wp-andreas01 theme to a test site and duplicated your symptom. Blank white overlay on preview. I renamed the folder as I indicated, refreshed the page, and this time the preview was present. The theme also activated as expected. I’m sure there is an explanation for that behavior floating around here somewhere, but I’ve just been too lazy to go find it. ??

Excellent piece of lateral thinking. Worked just like you said it would. Many thanks for your speedy reply …
