Just upgraded all wordpress versions to 2.7. Unfotunately there’s one problem, no flash uploader. Uploading 1 image at a time sucks.

    Here’s the details:
    + Erased cache and cookies
    + installed flash player 10
+ tried on both safari 3.1.2 and firefox 3.1b2 browsers
    + only allowed browser uploads

any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Thanks, worked for me too!

For those of you having problems with this method not working, try deleting the ‘swfuploads’ folder entirely and then uploading a fresh version. This worked for me, I didn’t even have to clear my browser cache.

I’m having the same issues with a new install of 2.7.1. With my local copy running under MAMP on my Macbook Pro it works fine. On my server it doesn’t work. Is there another server requirement for the flash uploader to function?

Forgot to add that I’ve tried all methods mentioned in this thread without any change. I do have the Flashblock extension active in Firefox 3.0.10, bu in my MAMP install I still get the Flash icon to click on to activate. Nothing in my production LAMP VPS box. Tested in latest version of Safari and same result. My server is running PHP 4.47, MySQL 4.1.22-standard and Apache 1.3.37.
