• I waited for the 2.8 update to see if it would fix anything and it didn’t.

My search box takes me back to the homepage, my “preview” for posts takes me back to the homepage. When I try to view an image in my image gallery, it takes me back to the homepage… but only if the image doesn’t have a post that it’s attached to.

Pretty much every single address with a “?” takes me back to the homepage.

    Example: https://roughkut.com/blog/?s=cena

This worked fine before and I don’t know which plugin may or may not be causing this. I suspect “Bad Behavior”.

ALSO, my pages come up as “Possibly Malicious code” on Finjan https://www.finjan.com/

I suspect “Apture” Plugin or maybe Zemanta?

Help a brotha out? I already tried looking for the answer here.

Before you ask, I have already deactivated every plugin to check and these things still don’t work anymore.

I’ve also tried to search on the default theme and it’s the same deal.

This stuff just stopped working and I’m not even sure how long it’s been this way. I do know that it worked fine before.

    Anyone?

Thanks anyways, I guess I can’t expect support on a free script.

You’re not alone…been trying to get some help for over a day now…

I think it is quite apparent that I shouldn’t have automatically upgraded to 2.8…

I may never upgrade again, should I ever get my site working again…Sorry I can’t be of help either…I’m experiencing the technical difficulties with the update as well.

    Thanks for the reply, Charming.

However my problem isn’t with the update at all. The update went great.

My search and every other wordpress address with a question mark stopped working weeks ago. I figured maybe if I waited for the upgrade it would fix the problem.

I just hoped somebody would help me out or at least put me in the right direction. I have no idea where to look for this problem. So far, no one else has this problem on these forums.

    This is truly disappointing.

    Bump?

Just checked the SEARCH on my WP Blog

    and guess what?

    It no longer works!?!

Yeah, I finally asked my webhost if they changed a setting that screws up my WP and they replied that something was wrong with the WordPress .htaccess file. But of course they refuse to tell me what it is because that would be programming or something like that. In short, they won’t screw with third party ware which is understandable.

The answer MAY be in the .htaccess but I wouldn’t know what it is. There’s some stuff for WP cache, but that won’t explain why two fresh WP installations don’t work out of the box.

But someone unrelated to this told me that WP Super Cache doesn’t work with WP 2.8. I wanted to tell him that it did work, but maybe this is what he’s talking about? I still fail to see how two fresh installations can be affected by this anyway.

Berean: I wonder does your search page do NOTHING but reload the homepage? That’s my problem.

This also effects my gallery because I can’t click to view the images that aren’t attributed to a post.

Something to do with the URLs with a question mark in them, I think. Because that’s the only thing I see in common.

I’ve installed three fresh WordPress accounts and NONE of them work.

I just deleted the WP cache bit in my .htaccess and it still does the same thing. So I don’t think that’s the problem.

I am beyond frustrated here. My search used to work just fine.

Just thought I’d let people know that the search STILL doesn’t work.

Not that I ever expect to get any support at this point.

I’f it seems remotely related to URL, I always reset my permalinks by saving back to default (even if I’m already at default) And then testing site, and then going back to custom.

Barring that….. checking searchform.php against default theme to make sure the functional parts match up

And I can’t view your source code from within browser (dunno if you have some kind of privacy thing set up) so I can’t look for anything strange
