• Quick rundown of the errors I’m having on default installation of WordPress 2.7.1 auto upgraded to 2.8.

All errors SO FAR seem to be on Posts page. All errors confirmed with IE7,IE8 and FF3.

    1. Screen options and Help pull downs do not work.
    2. Tags do not work. Can not add tags.
    3. None of the tables are able to collapse.
    4. None of the “Status”, “Visibility” or “Published on” edit links work.

I will try going to back to 2.7.1 and upgrading again manually.

  • Also having trouble with 2.8:

In Edit Post, the toolbar (bold, add link, etc) is gone.

Also, post text only appears after I click HTML and then click back to VISUAL – then all HTML tags appear as well.

Anyone else having troubles with this?

    Thanks

The photo and media management are also broken, total failure

The preview button (once saved but not published) also appears to be non-responsive.

Cannot post or edit. tool bar missing, cannot make html tab work.
Cannot make any changes to older posts.

FeedWordPress plugin doesn’t work with it. Creates HTTP request error.

If you have your security set on your computer, like I do…
Go to appearance editor to edit templates and you are asked to allow access. Paste something and it pastes the letter “v” because of your command. CTRL + F to find something, then try to click on it and you’re brought to the top of the page, so you have to scroll down again.

I noticed that some plugins (those that dealt with tags) broke the add media buttons and the other publishing buttons. I disabled those plugins and things came back.

I still can’t add tags on one site that never used the same plugins… so I’m confused.

New posts are not showing up after upgrade to wp 2.8

My ENTIRE BLOG IS GONE!! I can’t access the dashboard, or even look at the front end. I get the following error:

Warning: require(/var/www/localhost/htdocs/wp-includes/compat.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/localhost/htdocs/wp-settings.php on line 246

huh?? Where did my blog go??

    Deactivate all the plgins

    Switch over to default theme

    And reply back here

Ironically enough, I am only having problems with the “tags” widget. I think that some of the problems I am reading about here are problems with your web hosts. I host my own site, and with the exception of my tags issue, the rest of WordPress 2.8.2 works flawlessly. JD

My problem is with the dashboard navigation buttons. They are there, but they are extremely small and have no embedded text to identify them. It’s a major inconvenience to have to scroll over them and wait for the options to appear.

You’ll need OZH Drop down Menu..that’ll solve your problemo.
