2.8.3 upgrade problem

    I recently installed a wp site and tried to upgrade it automatically to 2.8.3 today. It won’t complete the upgrade and all I get is “Downloading update from https://www.ads-software.com/wordpress-2.8.3.zip.” instead of the usual “upgrade completed.”

    I upgraded another wp site today with no problems.

    Any idea what is wrong? The site seems to be functioning properly but it’s been up only a few days so I haven’t checked everything.

    Nevermind. I guess I needed to deactivate all of the plugins before upgrading. The upgrade worked fine after I did that.

    I’m not sure why I needed to deactivate the plugins with this site and not with the others I upgraded today, but I guess it doesn’t matter since the end was the justification of the means.
