• Is it just me or is the current 2.8.4.zip download from the WP download area corrupt? I downloaded it at work today and noticed the wp-config-sample.php was missing the closing php tag. I fixed that, but still had an error on the install. I installed an older copy of the source code from one of my existing sites and did an auto-upgrade and everything upgraded fine.

  • I don’t believe so. The lack of closing php tag is deliberate so that white space is not sent out before headers.

If a Vista machine was used on the unzip, I’ve heard of it not extracting completely…recommend using 7-zip for unzip/extraction in that case.

@tomontoast: Hummm…I learn something new everyday…never noticed that not being in the default config file.

@michaelh: Thanks…I normally use 7-zip, but may not have used it that time.

This is error message is what I get when uploading a .zip plugins to my wp site; any ideas what the issue is here, at my wits end.
