• I can edit and update pots in 2.9 which I just installed but there is no button to publish or update pages. This is not very convenient for me. There simply exists no button on the edit page to submit revisions to existing pages or publish new pages. Does anyone else have this issue? I use pages, public and private, for a variety of purposes. How can this be resolved?

I seemed to have accidentally solved the problem. You need to switch the page to 2 columns to get the publish/update button to appear (or I had to) and then can switch back to one column. No need t panic I guess.

Bill can you provide steps on how to reproduce this?

There is a ticket in wordpress trac regarding your issue:

It seems that WordPress has done something in the new 2.9 update. On my blogs the PAGES are only able to be edited by the ORIGINAL ADMIN account (username = admin) – even though all the documentation says that other accounts with Administrator permissions may use all functions. Surely they will fix this in a future release. but for now, be sure you log in using the ADMIN user.

WordPress has released WordPress 9.1 Beta whicg has fixed some bugs. It would be a good idea to upgrade and see if it resolves the problem.

    All-

ALISM has totally nailed the answer to this problem. You only need to go to the PAGES page, click the SCREEN OPTIONS at the top of the screen and change it from 1 column to 2 column. The saving information will appear in the 2nd column.

I am also having the same edit/publish page issue, but in my 2.9 installation my screen options button does not respond at all, including the screen options in the dashboard as well – any ideas?
