FTP information for localhost

  • I’ve installed WP on localhost. How do I complete the FTP Connection info for automatic updates?

    I’m on Mac OSX, and tried to create a virtual host, but it failed. Tips on getting that to work are also appreciated.

    Thanks whooami. I can get online, and ftp works fine, so I think the answers are “yes” and “yes.” I don’t use my mac as a webserver. All my localhost sites are at 127.0.0.1, and I have other local sites running.

    I thought the hostname might be https://localhost/~username/wordpress

    You can check your FTP host by going to System Preferences > Sharing > File Sharing. Then under FTP Access: On it will tell you your address.

    I’m actually struggling to get this to upgrade on my local development server. As it keeps telling me my username and password are wrong.
