2FA doesn’t actually work??

  • We have enabled 2FA. First time we accidentally put wrong numbers, still it unlocked/logged-in to our site. So we actually put wrong numbers and it logs in to WordPress dashboard! We confirmed this 4-5 times! 2AF numbers actually not working!?

    Hi @akiraanastasia, thanks for getting in touch.

    I’m still receiving an error if I invent a number, or leave 2FA blank when trying to sign in, so 2FA isn’t reflecting this behavior in general.

    Our Login Security (reCAPTCHA/2FA) is currently compatible with default WordPress and WooCommerce login/registration pages only so ensure you’re not using custom pages or another plugin’s login page. A login-related plugin that doesn’t follow the normal WordPress login flow could also cause issues.

    It would certainly be worth temporarily disabling all plugins except for Wordfence and reverting your site to a default theme such as Twenty Twenty-Four to see if you can get 2FA to require a correct code. Reenable your other plugins and theme one-by-one to see if/when the issue returns.

    @wfpeter WP hide login plugin can cause this?
