I turned on 2FA with a grace period of 15 days for all users. After a user signs up for 2FA, their status is changed from “Inactive (Grace Period)” to “Inactive” and they are not prompted for a 2FA code when they attempt to log in. Can someone explain why this is happening?

Hi @zgall1, I may need a little more information from you if that’s OK?

Are the user roles WordPress defaults or custom ones? I also wondered if the roles are set to “Required” or “Optional” in Wordfence > Login Security > Settings?

Are they also signing in through the default WordPress login page, or did you need to enable WooCommerce integration?

    Thanks,
    Peter.

    Of course.

    User Roles are defaults.

    Roles are set to Required

The login page is the default page.

What would be the next steps to troubleshoot this?

Hi @zgall1, thanks for the extra information.

I haven’t seen that specific change when 2FA has been configured within the grace period, although I’m not ruling out multisite or database tables as the issue.

It may assist us in this case to see a report from the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics menu. You can send that to us at wftest @ wordfence . com. Click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Thanks,
    Peter.

    Hi @zgall1,

I haven’t found a diagnostic in our inbox with your forum username attached. Please send that over and reply here once you’ve sent it if this is still an issue for you.

    Thanks again,
    Peter.
