    Hi all,

    I have a website of about 1.2G storage space. Its domain was a hosting domain. Its files are on /public_html/

    I need to migrate it to local PC and performed following steps

    1. Create and download following files;
    installer.php
    wp_2237dad9c7e6de0d5196_20210701141906_archive.daf

    2. On File Manager
    Selecting;

    wp-admin
    wp-content
    wp-includes
    404.shtml
    error_log
    home_html
    index.php
    ...
    ...
    ...
    wp-signup.php
    wp-trcakback.php
    xmlrpc.php

    leaving out .well-known (on the top) and other websites, download them to local PC. All selected folders and files are automatically compressed as a .zip file before download

    public_html-27.zip

    Please advise whether the steps performed are correct? Whether I can run those 3 files to duplicate the website on local PC?

    Thanks in advance

    Regards
    Stephen L

  • Hey @satimis02,

    Yes, that approach is correct if you did a Database only package. Keep in mind you can also filter out larger directories like the wp-content/uploads directory which has images and typically is what bloats the size of the Duplicator archive.zip file. Then run the install as normal and simply just copy all the uploads files.

    Hope that helps~
