3.0.5 Release

We’d like to sincerely apologize for the issues many of our customers have had this week with the updates for Social Warfare and Social Warfare Pro. We are happy to report that functionality has been restored with our newly released version 3.0.5!

This is our canned response to everyone who had trouble with the update, but please don’t hesitate to let us know if your issue is not resolved by submitting an email to [email protected]. There are a few minor CSS/display issues that we will work on next week, but if you have a FUNCTIONALITY related issue, please let us know.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY TO ENSURE YOUR ISSUE WILL BE FIXED.

*** If you are on version 2.3.5 or older ***

(1) Deactivate AND delete both plugins completely. Your settings will not be lost!

(2) After deleting, go to Plugins > Add New and search for Social Warfare. You should see version 3.0.5 available.

(3) Visit this link to download Social Warfare Pro version 3.0.5: https://warfareplugins.com/updates/social-warfare-pro/social-warfare-pro.zip

(4) After updating and activating both plugins, clear any caching plugins, Cloudflare, CDNs, Autoptimize, etc. completely.

(5) If you use Social Warfare Pro, check the Registration tab to make sure your license is active.

*** If you are on version 3.0.0 or newer ***

(1) Please check for version 3.0.5 for both Social Warfare and Social Warfare Pro.

(2) After updating both plugins, clear any caching plugins, Cloudflare, CDNs, Autoptimize, etc. completely.

(3) If you use Social Warfare Pro, check the Registration tab to make sure your license is active.

*** If your site is down or showing a fatal error ***

BOTH PLUGINS will need to be removed and replaced manually – please follow these steps:

(1) Access your site files via FTP or your host’s file manager if you can’t delete the plugins through your site dashboard. You want to delete /wp-content/plugins/social-warfare/ (the whole folder) and /wp-content/plugins/social-warfare-pro/ (the whole folder) if you use Social Warfare Pro. If you aren’t sure how to do this, your host can assist you.

(2) After deleting, go to Plugins > Add New and search for Social Warfare. You should see version 3.0.5 available.

(4) After updating and activating both plugins, clear any caching plugins, Cloudflare, CDNs, Autoptimize, etc. completely.

(5) Check the front end view of your site to make sure there are no errors. If you see errors, please send an email to [email protected] and include the exact error you see, and we will work on a solution as quickly as possible.

(6) If you use Social Warfare Pro, check the Registration tab to make sure your license is active.
