Good plugin but severe deficiencies really let it down
-
I’ve been using this plugin for years, and for the most part it’s very good. There are 2 issues (hence 2 stars removed, though I did toy with dropping 3 stars as they are very annoying) that stop me giving it 5 stars.
1) When a member cancels, it immediately revokes access, so I have had chargebacks from customers who complain they aren’t getting what they paid for, and they are completely right, absolutely no-one would expect that behaviour. When a customer cancels the subscription they should still have access for the remaining time they have left, that is how pretty much any subscription I have ever heard of works… just not PMPro. They *DO* have a recipe to add this functionality (so they know it’s something people want) but the real kick in the teeth is it will cost you $297 to find out how to do it… this should be the default, if not only option, not something you need to pay for in order to manually add the functionality (I assume it’s not even a plugin but some manual process, but no way of knowing without paying).
2) If a customer payment fails, PMPro has no knowledge of it, so the customer will continue getting access to the members only stuff until I manually go through the failed payment reports from paypal and manually cancel the users subscription.
