3 Sites, only one with ssl

Do you mean you are running multisite which has three sites on it and you only need one to have an SSL?

What do you mean they are running seperate domain names…subdomains? Domain mapping?

I dont see an issue with getting the whole multisite install put on an SSL.

But you might be better putting this question to your host.

I have asked my host and they were no help. I’m running domain mapping. I have a single ssl for the one domain name that needs it. To get a wildcard ssl or a ssl for the other sites is expensive and not needed.

their membership is 49.99 a month and you don’t get updates. I really hate not having updates on my plugins as it’s a security risk as WordPress updates so often.

Its $24.50 a month and you get updates and the rest of their themes and plugins or you can pay $19 a month + updates just for domain mapping plugin.

One way to do that:
1) configure SSL certificate on your host
2) modify web server configuration to route all http traffic to https for that one domain.
3) configure in WP siteurl to https

Ok so I bought the bullet and purchased a wildcard ssl (found it for a good deal), but I’m having issues getting it installed. They’re saying I need to add code to my .htaccess file. Is that correct?

We changed our plan and we’re going to end up needing one on the subdomains anyway which are mapped as domain names with domain mapping. I’m ripping my hair out over here. Please can I get an hand?

I am not sure of what you want to do. Can you cite examples?

If you purchased a wildcard SSL cert, your hosting provider usually has an interface where you add/config it.

I would like the ssl for all the sites as eventually they will be running woocommerce.

I purchased the ssl from someone other than my hosting. They gave me this article https://my.justhost.com/hosting/help/766 and let me tell you’ve they’ve been less than helpful. They blew up my multisite 2 days ago, even though I was trying to get help from them. He decided to just pull my wp-config file and take out my multisite. I was so pissed and he also adjusted my upload setting. It was a whole mess of crap he did without telling me or asking. Talk about being pissed off and trying to figure out what he had done.

If you want https://www.domain.com, https://www.domain2.com, https://www.domain3.com, etc. Then you made a mistake. Those are separate domains. A wildcard ssl certificate is good for all subdomains, *.domains.com OR https://www.domain.com, sub1.domain.com, sub2.domain.com, etc.

If you need ssl certificates for multiple domains, then you need to buy separate ssl certificates.

can I not add subdomains in the mapping to fix that?
