• My site at https://www.geminithermohvac.com is having an issue with a slow loading pagespeed according to pingdom, gtmetrix and Pagespeed insights. I have 3 sites all on a Godaddy shared hosting account. They’re all WordPress, same theme, same plugins, same settings.

I had done all I could to optimize sitespeed and I was always getting pageload speeds of under 1 second on all 3 sites. Couple months ago, without having made any changes, the geminithermohvac.com started getting slow speeds of 3-6 seconds. No idea why.

Google Pagespeed indicates slow server response time of 2-3 seconds for this site only. Otherwise Pingdom, gtmetrix and Google Pagespeed show everything exactly the same for all 3 sites. The only pending improvement unique to the slow site is where Pagespeed indicates slow server response time.

I’ve spoken with Godaddy support a few times and they’re no help. They just say that all the sites are on the same server so the server response time will be the same for all the sites.

According to my research “Generally, the primary bottleneck when it comes to your server response time involves your database.” Maybe something with the database ? I have no idea. Any ideas are appreciated. My 3 sites are:

    https://www.geminithermohvac.com running slow
    https://www.geminifloors.com running fine
    https://www.geminicontractor.com running fine

Thanks for the feedback t-p. Helps to know…

Anyone else out there have an idea why GTmetrix, pagespeed and pingdom are showing 3-6 secs load time ? Used to get under 500 ms.

The TTFB for me is 1.97 seconds.

It seems that you’re using W3TC — I see this in the source “Page Caching using disk: enhanced (SSL caching disabled)”

Check the W3TC settings and enable caching for SSL pages.

Steve, thanks ALOT ! That did it, you hit it right on the money. Now pagespeed is back to optimum. Really appreciate your help. I spent alot of time on this and just had no idea.

    Good luck, thanks.
